MARK MCGOWAN

Mark has been involved in music since grade school through the present. He started playing guitar at age 14 and has played and sung in church choirs, school choirs, and vocal competitions in high school and college. As a music major in college, he studied vocal pedagogy and speech communication with an emphasis on vocal performance. His early roots in music are Rock n Roll and Classical music.

 

Music Work History:

Mark worked for Christian Singer-Songwriter Dallas Holm for eleven and a half years as Booking Agent and Road Manager. As Road Manager he has traveled 42 of the 50 United States. He also has recorded some backup vocals for ZMI Music Productions and has been a paid worship leader and vocalist in church choirs. Mark met David Dutton while playing and singing together in a church praise and worship band and has been performing together off and on for 20 years.

 

Instruments used in Performances:

Lead acoustic guitar, lead electric guitar, light rhythm guitar, harmonicas, tin whistles, light percussion/drums, keyboard, harmony/lead vocals.

 

Studies:

Studied voice under Dr. Ronald Anderson and Jim Broussard. Graduated with a Bachelors of Applied Arts and Sciences at Stephen F. Austin State University.

 

Goals:

To record and perform a collaboration of original songs written by md to the public about life, love, and the pursuit of excellence. To Glorify God with his playing and singing.
