Step Up Chart- Climb One Level 2025
Second Letter to the Congregation:
Greetings Friends,
We find ourselves reflecting on the incredible journey we’re experiencing through 2024. We’ve certainly had challenges, but God is faithful, and we are maturing in our relationship and experience with Him.
We are excited to share with you the first Caldwell Methodist Annual Report, which is attached or included in this communication with you. In it, we highlight many of the activities we’ve participated in as we fulfill our mission of the church to inspire, connect, and to serve all in the name of Christ. We also included our expenditures thus far in 2024. Many times, we hear in our halls, ‘I didn’t know we participated in that’ or ‘I had no idea we had that event.” We want to invite you to see some of the people and know about some of the projects and programs you impact with your service and gifts to our church.
As a matter of fact, we’ve included some of the sentiments from our congregation on the next page of this letter, on why they feel participating in worship and providing various opportunities for children, youth, and adults is so very important. We invite you to read through them.
And, finally, it is difficult to consider historical giving only at this time, and we want to offer you the opportunity to help us project our budget for 2025. We have included a “Step Up Chart” where you can identify where you are in giving to the church and prayerfully consider taking one step up towards a “tithe” or identify your tithe amount and step one step higher into offerings.
“Tithe” comes from an Old English root word meaning “one-tenth”. The tithe was an offering of the first of one’s agricultural income to the Lord as an expression of thanks and dedication which was implemented in the law given to Moses. Today we think of the tithe as a responsibility to give back to the Lord what is His and to give above that when we are able. As we invite God into every area of our lives, opening the door of our finances to God allows us to grow in our faith that He is the provider of everything good.
We have also included in this communication an Estimate of Giving link is https://caldwellmc.org/thrive-in-25/, or card to fill out to let us know about your giving in 2025. For your convenience we have provided a separate link to give an additional gift in 2024 . Love More in ‘24 If you prefer to mail in your contribution, our mailing address is 306 West Fox Street, Caldwell, Texas 77836.
We will have a celebration on December 15 following the 10:30 service. More details will follow as we get closer to the date, but we know you won’t want to miss the opportunity to celebrate all God is doing and the birthday of Christ as we approach Christmas.
Your generosity is what supports the ministry and mission of our church. Thank you for continuous support of Caldwell Methodist Church through your prayers, your presence, your gifts and your service. With every gift you offer, you are the hands and feet of Christ in our community, and we are so thankful.
Our goal is to communicate more with our congregation. We know how important that is. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to our church and to the mission Christ has placed on our hearts. Please in turn, let us know how we can serve you. Can we pray for you, or do you desire a visit from one of our members? Would you like to know more about our church or what we’re up to? Just ask, we would be honored to serve you. Our phone number is 979-567-3778.
In His Service,
Caldwell Methodist Church Board of Stewards
We asked a few people what was important to them about our church and why they participate with various opportunities and ministries. Below are some of the heartfelt responses we received:
- Love to see how excited Children & Youth are to learn new things. They are our legacy at Caldwell Methodist Church. – Brad Blaha
- Worship is important because it allows us to connect with God. – Koy Macik
- Outreach ministries are important in our church to spread the Good News, try to get people into church, to provide a service to someone in need, it was Jesus’ last message to his disciples. -Bobbie Chapman
- The children are your future as corny as that is. We need to nurture them and teach them about Jesus. This church is a wonderful place to do that. And children and youth ministries are a way to keep families engaged. – Kelly Reynolds
- We are called to be a light of the world, to bring others to Christ, to fulfill the Great Commission. Showing God’s love in action, to be His hands and feet. To bring the community together in the body of Christ; that is why community outreach is important. – Anonymous
- During worship, I feel closer to Jesus! We all need to know and love Him so we can all go to Heaven. We need to pray and talk to Him daily. – Mitzi Blaha
- Worship is important to experience God’s/Holy Spirit’s presence. To be a group of believers. To feed my soul and strengthen my faith. – Tedi Rockett
- Children and youth need a time to learn about the foundations of Christianity, Christian fellowship, Biblical stories, and praying conducted in more serious context (like Sunday School). MYF, Methodist Youth Fellowship is a less serious context with devotions, fun time of fellowship, games and skits, singing, and snacks. MYF is also a good time for service projects in church or the community. – Anita Johnson
- Worship helps me continue to focus on what is really important. – Mike Sutherland
- Adult ministries are important to me because when my family came here it was and is adult ministries that helped us through the tough times. My prayer is that others will be blessed through these ministries like my family was. – MaryAnn Baron
- Worship is important to me because it’s a great church. It is the church I was born into, and baptized in 1952. It has a great connection with prior generations that I grew up with and respected. And I love to worship the Lord here. – Tom Rockett
- Children need to learn Bible stories and interact with their peers as a foundation for later growth. Youth need an additional source to supplement their parents to navigate the difficult process of growing into adulthood and facing the many challenges of the teen years! – Debbie Sutherland
- Community outreach brings others to Christ. – Anonymous
- I am called to be with other believers to worship God, so I attend church regularly. I do so in THIS church because I made a commitment to be here, and I have since gotten involved in numerous areas of service that are dear to me. – Kelly Reynolds
- It is important for adults to always work to grow their faith. – Dawn McMachen
- At the age of 12 years old, I attended a rural Baptist Church. On Sunday a precious lady appeared at my house with a group of my peers. She asked if I would be interested in joining them for Sunday service at Caldwell Methodist Church. I was then introduced to activities that weren’t available in my church such as MYF and choir, etc. Upon reaching adulthood my family and I relocated to the Rio Grande Valley. Ultimately, we retired and resumed our Caldwell Methodist membership. I was pleased to learn that some of the children who followed my early path, were now long-time members with extended families. This precious lady took the time and effort to mentor others. I consider that to be the “epitome” of outreach. – Ina Odstricil
